RECOVERY DERM INSTRUCTIONS
Leave your bandage on for 3-5 days. You will see blood, plasma, and ink pool under the bandage THIS IS NORMAL! You should remove the bandage early if you:
Have any fluid leak out of the bandage
Any of the tattoo is exposed
See any signs of redness or irritation from the bandage
Notice any excess moisture (water) in the bandage.
When its time to remove the bandage make sure to do it under warm running water with some antibacterial soap. This will help remove the adhesive. Begin by picking at a lifted corner of the bandage and then SLOWLY peel the Recovery Derm off moving parallel with the skin (like a command strip)
Wash your hands well and your new tattoo thoroughly using unscented antibacterial soap (I recommend Dial Gold). Rinse your tattoo off thoroughly and pat it with clean dry paper towels. DO NOT USE A BATH TOWEL These hold bacteria and can cause an infection.
Use a very thin layer of unscented lotion (I recommend Lubriderm) or tattoo ointment on your new tattoo. Your tattoo is going to get itchy and flakey. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH AT YOUR TATTOO.
Repeat this cleaning process 2-3 times a day for the next two weeks or until completely healed!
Wait at least two weeks before swimming or sunbathing to avoid damage!
Do not touch your healing tattoo unless you are washing it with clean hands.
Keep it as dry as possible while showering and remember to use clean paper towels to dry it.
Remember, your new tattoo is an open wound so keeping it clean and free of debris is the safest way to avoid an infection.
